Absolutely! If you're looking to challenge a specific player to a duel, start by adding them as a friend (see the next FAQ question for help on how to do this). Once they're in your friends list, navigate to their profile and send them a 1v1 request!

First, you need to have an account. After logging in, go to devduels.net/profile/[friend_username] or search your friend's name in the search bar at the top of the page. After searching your friend's username, you can press the Send friend request button.

For information on our ranking system and all ranks, please check out our Ranks page!

If you accidentally leave a ranked game, you can rejoin the ranked page and you will be instantly reconnected if your opponent hasn't won yet. After rejoining, you can still submit code and play like you never left.

Contact us at support@devduels.net! If we like the exercise, not only will we add it to our exercises, but every time two players get the exercise, they will see your name as the creator of the exercise! Not only will you receive credit for making the exercise, if you're among the top creators of our website, you will appear on our Creators page!

The Top Duelists page displays DevDuels' best 10 duelists, ranked by duelies. If you wish to enter those rankings, you need to become at least the 10th ranked duelist, meaning, you need to have at least one duelie more than the 11th duelist.

There are three difficulties: Easy, Medium and Hard. If you join a match, you will be assigned a random exercise. From then on, your goal is to solve the exercise with the description, sample input and output. If you solve the exercise first, you will win. As soon as one player submits their answer, both players lose the ability to code. If the code was correct, the player who submitted the code wins. Otherwise, the player will be disqualified. Currently, coders can engage in thrilling coding duels using JavaScript, the dynamic language of the web; Python, renowned for its simplicity, readability, and widespread use in data science and machine learning; and Java, a robust, object-oriented language that's integral to building scalable, high-performance applications. These languages were chosen for their popularity, versatility, and the diverse range of coding challenges they offer. However, we are always looking to expand our offerings to cater to our community's interests and needs. If there's a programming language you love and would like to see featured in our website, don't hesitate to let us know! Your suggestions are invaluable to us!

There are two distinct duel modes: Singleplayer and Ranked. To dive into a Singleplayer duel, simply press the 'Play' button located in the header and select the 'Singleplayer' option, or begin by clicking here! Singleplayer mode offers a relaxed environment where you can hone your skills without the pressure of losing or gaining duelies!
For those seeking a harder challenge, the Ranked mode places you against coders from around the world in a competitive match where every second counts. Enter the Ranked arena by clicking the 'Play' button in the header and choosing the 'Ranked Queues' option, or start your competitive journey by clicking here! Ranked duels not only test your skills but also offer the chance to climb the leaderboard and earn bragging rights within the community.

As soon as a player submits their code, the match ends. If the submitted code passes all the tests, the player wins, and their opponent loses. However, if it doesn't pass all the tests, the player is immediately disqualified and the opponent wins! For more information on this topic, check out our How To Play page!
